AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City
The mission of the AIDS Service Foundation is to raise awareness and funding for local service organizations which provide shelter, medical care and emergency services to the women, men and children living with HIV/AIDS in our community.
Today there are more than 5,700 people living with HIV/AIDS in the Kansas City area and of that number more than 700 are young people between the ages of 13 and 24.
Whether you participate as a walker, support a walker or donate to AIDS WALK 2008, you’ll be helping the following organizations:
• Good Samaritan Project Good Samaritan Project to continue to provide a diverse array of services including case management, mental health counseling, transportation, emergency assistance and prevention/education programs for those most at-risk.
• Kansas City Free Health Clinic to provide primary medical care, case management, behavioral health counseling and HIV testing and prevention in both English and Spanish.
• SAVE, Inc. to give daily shelter and to provide affordable long term one-bedroom apartments to otherwise homeless families and individuals affected by HIV/AIDS.
