The Foundation's goal is to restore joy and laughter and to provide a child with a life-threatening medical condition with a special experience that pushes aside pain, anxiety, and uncertainty and gives back happiness.

Mission: The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. The Metro New York chpater has gratned more than 7,800 wishes to children residing in the five boroughs of New York City and Nassau County, Long Island, since it was founded in 1983.
