TWIN ROSSETTI BROTHERS SMASH GUINNESS WORLD RECORDTM FOR THE LONGEST TENNIS RALLY IN AN OLYMPIAN EFFORT...

UPDATE: We (collectively) did it! 25,944 strokes in 14 hours, 31 minutes. Now it’s your turn. Please help support our new goal of $25,944, one dollar for every stroke we hit. Thank you for your support.

Here is our original personal appeal letter below if you would like to learn why we attempted this feat. If you are inspired to create a fundraising event yourself, follow these links:

---------------------

Hello Friends.

On Saturday, August 9, 2008, we will endeavor to break the Guinness World Record for the "longest contrived tennis rally" {that is hitting the same ball in play without missing}. We calculate that it will take 15 hours to break the record.

Last year, we attempted to break the world record of 24,696 strokes. At 5:08 AM on Sunday morning, after 10 hours and 38 minutes, we fell short of the record at 19,490 strokes.

This year, we set a symbolic goal of 27,000, which represents the number of children around the world that die every day from treatable or preventable causes under age 5. {We know because Ettore works at Save the Children}. {Ettore has two children age 5 and under and Angelo has one.}

The event is in honor of Scott Wilson {our friend and tennis mentor who died of ALS - Lou Gehrig's Disease} and Tim Gullikson {an identical twin tennis player who died of brain cancer}. Through the sport of tennis, we hope to increase awareness of these health issues and raise funds for charity.

We are identical twin brothers and USPTA certified tennis teaching professionals, currently ranked #1 in New England in USTA Men's Open doubles. However, our on-court accomplishments are meaningless compared to what we are trying to accomplish off the court.

Please give whatever you can. We truly appreciate any donation, no matter how large or small. Every dollar counts just like every shot counts.

If you know someone else who may want to support this event, please forward this link to them: http://www.firstgiving.com/tennisrally4charity

Thanks very much.
