                                       Why am I fundraising?  

Because I'm TURNING 50 on May 23rd and while diamonds would be lovely, I decided to celebrate this milestone in a more meaningful way for me.

As many of you know, on past milestone birthdays I have participated in fundraising events and raised money for various charitable organizations :                                                        

 30th:  MS Foundation -- 75-mile bike ride--Alex. VA to Harper's Ferry West VA;    35th:  American Lung Association -- 2-day bike ride on Catalina Island, CA;            40th:  Breast Cancer -- 3-day, 75-mile walk--Santa Barbara to Santa Monica;       45th:  SPCA LA -- 5-mile walk with Clyde and Cleo in Griffith Park, Los Angeles

To celebrate my 50th birthday, I wanted to participate in another fundraiser for animal welfare on or around my actual birth day.  So, on May 30th, Clyde, Cleo and I will be "strutting our stuff" in the "8th Annual HOWLY-WOOD PAWS OF FAME" event to benefit the Inland Valley Humane Society.  

Please consider a donation to the IVH for my 50th birthday.   It breaks my heart to see abandoned dogs and cats; supporting an organization dedicated to finding them    "forever homes" would be the best birthday present I      could receive.

I've learned that in these hard economic times people often cut back on their charitable contributions (I know I do).  And with the addition of the current housing crisis, more and more animals are abandoned with home foreclosures.

Rescue organizations need support MORE THAN EVER! 

Ernie and I rescued Clyde and Cleo 10 years ago (two weeks before our wedding!) and these two bundles of furry love have brought immeasurable joy to our lives.  This is also a sad time for us.  A month ago, Clyde was diagnosed with an inoperable cancer in his sinus cavity and while he's doing fine right now, we don't know how long our precious puppy will be with us.  I want to do this walk for him (and with him--if he's up to it--on May 30th).

So please, please "walk with us"...  To celebrate my birthday, to honor the love of a cherished pet, to help abandoned animals.  Donate now.  Thank you!
