JASON LEDLIE &TEAM GLUTES ENGAGE:
WORKING OUR BUNS OFF FOR BRAINS
In April of 1986, my Dad suffered a stroke while training for the triathlon. He was swimming at the time. It should go without saying...but my Dad never competed in the triathlon.
In February 2007, I began to feel compelled to “pick up the torch” and finish the race, so-to-speak. On May 10th of 2008, I met this personal goal by competing in the Texas Tri Series "Rookie." What a rewarding experience. Along my journey, I recruited some old friends, made some new friends, and put together a team of really cool people. These exceptional, unique, strong, extra-ordinary, remarkable individuals comprise Team Glutes Engage.
Though my triathlon début was in May, from the inception of this venture I have always felt that it would be meaningful to return to my hometown of Lake Jackson, Texas to compete. As a result, Team Glutes Engage will be competing in the Brazosport Relay Triathlon on September 6th, 2008.
Team Glutes Engage managed to raise just under $3,000 for the National Stroke Association and the Brian Injury Association of Texas going into their participation in the Rookie.
Team Glutes Engage is committed to continuing to draw attention to the issues of Stroke and Brain Injury, and the team will continue to raise money for these two terrific organizations.
As always, many thanks to our team sponsor, Dr. Peter Norris.
Personally, and on behalf of the entire team, thank you for taking the time to hear my story and observe our cause.
Sincerely,
Jason R. Ledlie
