Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
In 2008, Macon County had 6 infant deaths that were related to SIDS or co-sleeping. Several entities in our community have joined together to work to possibly save the lives of babies in our county. You have the power to help us make a positive change in our community!
Neuhoff Media (WSOY, 95Q, Y103, WDZ The Fan, Hot 105.5), the Macon County Health Department, Decatur Memorial Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, and Decatur Public Schools have partnered to develop the "This Side Up" SIDS Awareness Project.
The project's goal is to educate the community about occrrences of SIDS in Macon County and what parents, grandparents, and child care providers can do to ensure their babies sleep as safely as possible.
The funds raised with this project will be used to provide education and outreach to the community and also purchase safe sleep education packets. These packets will include onesies with the log (you can see it on this page!), sleep sacks (a safe alternative to a blanket for baby), and a plethora of informational brochures about safe sleep for babies. The project's goal is to raise enough funds to purchase enough packets to be given out to every baby born at each of the local hospitals for three years.
We ask you to participate in this project however you can. If you would like to make a personal contribution or one on behalf of your business or organization, please do so. If you are unable to make a donation, please consider spreading the word about our education, free speakers for group meetings, and/or volunteering during our fundraiser on May 13th. We appreciate any type of commitment you can make to our very worthy cause! Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Thank you so much for passing the word along about safe sleep and your donation for our project. You are helping us make a diffierence for our own neighbors, friends, and families
