Celebrating 25 years of helping homeless families with children! 

We provide a safe, supportive environment and the resourses necessary for homeless families with children to  remain together while empowering them to become independent and self-sufficient.

Thomas House Temporary Shelter was founded in 1986 by a group of friends who came together out of a shared concern for the growing number of homeless families.  The original shelter consisted of just one apartment unit in the Buena Clinton neighborhood of Garden Grove.  In order to address the growing demand for service, the shelter soon grew to include the entire building, and eventually expanded to also include the building next door.  In 2003 Thomas House purchased both properties.  Thomas House has continued to strategically expand, strengthen and refine the program in order to remain responsive to current needs in the local community.
