Dear Friends and Family,
It is time for the 7th annual Orange County Huntington's Disease Society of America Walk on Saturday, September 26, 2009, at 8:00am at the UC Irvine Campus. This annual event is held to provide awareness, education and funds for HD research to find a CURE for this devastating disease!
I'm sure you all know this is a cause near and dear to my heart and my family, which is why I'll be out there with my walkin' shoes! Our team, THREE ZEES, will be walking in honor all those who not only have this disease, but those who are at-risk and the family members who are also affected by it.
If you are interested in coming to the walk, we will have food, fun things to do for the kids, raffle prizes and a live auction. Email me directly at: chrystelle@hdsaoc.org if you would like more info. I have signed on as Chapter President in order to try to do more to raise awareness in the community. Please join me in that effort!
If you can't make it, but would like to support me in the quest to find a cure, please consider a donation to HDSA my web page:
Any amount you can give (is tax-deductible) and will bring us closer to the overall Walk Goal of raising $150,000 for HD research. Please visit HDSA Orange County at www.hdsaoc.org.
Thank you so much for your financial and emotional support! God bless you...................................Chrystelle
Huntington's Disease is an inherited, progressively degenerative brain disease that results in a loss of mental faculties and physical control. HD affects adults between 30 and 50, but is increasing in its juvenile form, Juvenile HD, in children as young as one year old. HD affects a person's ability to think, speak, and walk. Ultimately, the weakened person succumbs to death. Presently, there is no effective treatment or cure.
