Hi all! Thanks for visiting our fundraising page for Bolder Options! This journey started 2 years ago - when Mikey was diagnosed with Lymphoma and Tina trained for the Chicago marathon in her quest to "Run Miles for Mikey". At the end of that race, Tina told Mikey the next time she ran a marathon - he had to run with her! Two years later and still in remission - Mikey was been bitten by the race bug after conquering his first 1/2 marathon with his sisters in April. So, after much arm twisting, Mikey convinced Tina to take on the Twin Cities Marathon with him. He insists it's "God's Country" and his connection to a lot of seminarians will somehow get us through the last few miles - ;)!! So, come October 5 the younger two Kearney kids will take on a new challenge together - and we need your help. We decided to join the Bolder Options team to dedicate our training to raising money for good cause. To read more about Bolder Options, check out http://www.bolderoptions.org. To sum it up, Bolder Options' mission is "To teach youth to succeed in all of life’s races". They target at risk youth and help them train for not only physical events (5Ks, cycling events) but with the help of mentors, for life's other events as well (academic, social, emotional). We have committed to collectively raising $2000 by the end of August (of which we need to raise $1200 by the end of July).
