Our personal message:

10/13/09

Wow.  I am so excited about the TMC participation we had for this year’s Aidswalk.  We had about 13 walkers, well 17 walkers including our four legged participants.  It was so much fun having the pups n toe. I must say that our first doggie participant Tapanga brought her star quality to the TMC team as she modeled the original Aidswalk 2007 bandana.  Cute!!  and the other dogs were just as cute and really great pups.

This year we rate second in fundraising just below Raytheon.  Our success comes from each one of our walkers, runners, raffles, jeans day and donors that help us raise the biggest fundraising result that I know of here at TMC. A huge thank you to every one of you guys who donated your time and money to make this happen. You directly affected our ability to give something to an organization that helps those less fortunate with programs that directly affect the quality of life for all people with Aids. Thank you, thank you, and thank you!!!!!

There were some major donors that I also need to call out and give an extra thanks to.  Randy Durig for running the Match on Friday, Stan Ponczek for being the captain of the Pharmacy team and playing such an important role in our fundraising. Hema Jayaram, Frank Marini, David Frost, Falena Reed, Mike Griffis, Judy Fry, Debbie Ingraham, John Talarek, Judyth Falconer, Kitt Leonard, Pete Rock. Thank you so much for your help.

Join Us!! Aidswalk 2009 5K Walk and 10K run. Sunday, October 11th.

Locaton:  University of Arizona Mall - See the schedule below!!!

I'm really excited to be doing the Aidswalk 2009 this year. It's my first year of running the 10K and I'm looking forward to it. Things have been crazy but I’m glad the people around me got excited about the walk. It helped turn my focus to the human side of "work to be done". I helped me take a beat and remind myself how rewarded am by helping others.
My I/S team and others I've met at TMC have been great at coming together for events like the Aidswalk.  We really do care about others in our community.  It is true that when others are walking and donating it makes the experience so rewarding because you feel the humanity around this supportive event.
This year we will be having a return guest appearance of our favorite Star and Honorary mascot Tapanga. Pat Ledin's dog was the focus of the Aidswalk 2007 cameras.  What a way to sky rocket to the Stars.  You'll have to come walk and meet starlet Tapanga!!  That's right - There are dog water stations throughout the walk so our four legged friends get to participate to.
Stan was at his best this year popping popcorn and recruiting at a fast pace as we were both behind the eight ball this year. Stan thanks for the incredible team work for this event.
Rachel Tineo and Jeanmarie Cook volunteered their time to help work the signup table.  They were great and I really appreciated the time you took to help. I know time is precious these days.  By the way Stan really thought you guys were Great!!
We know not everyone can walk or run but your donations really do help Southern Arizona Aids Foundation (SAAF).  I know some who receive their services and it is amazing how these programs improve the quality of their life. Thank you, thank you.
