My personal message:

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for Junior Achievement of Chicago, DuPage County Division.  As many of you know, I've been involved with Junior Achievement for over 25 years, as a classroom volunteer and member of the DuPage County Board of Directors.

DuPage County's goal for the 2009-2010 school year is to reach over 50,000 students in 2,400 classrooms with our relevant economic education programs. We believe as a community, we can start inspiring tomorrow's leaders to make successful choices today.

As a member of the JA Board of Directors, I am passionate about giving our students the tools they need to succeed.  I always look forward to going into the classroom.  The JA program activities that I lead focus on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and workforce readiness.  It truly is the highlight of my week!

Unfortunately, the demand for JA is far greater than we are currently able to provide.  Each year, an increasing number of educators and parents ask us for our programs.  As a result, we have developed a plan that will dramatically increase the number of classrooms reached.  But we can't do it without your help.  My goal this year is to provide JA for at least 80 students.

Donating through this website is simple, fast, and totally secure.  With your contributions,

  • $25 will provide JA for one student
  • $500 will reach an entire class of JA students
  • $5,000 will equip an entire school with the JA curriculum

Thanks in advance for your help--and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate, too.  And if you're interested in volunteering in the classroom, we're always looking for new recruits.  I assure you that it is a rewarding experience.  Please contact me if you'd like to know more about the classroom experience and becoming a volunteer.

Best regards,

Tom
