I would hear a report of children in Africa living and dying in awful conditions, and wondered, "Lord, how can I help?" I was also thinking I needed some sort of an exercise program. When World Vision first talked to me about running a marathon, I thought, "You don't know who you're talking to!" But I did it! Now, after a hard winter of illness and injury, I'm game to do it again. 

World Vision works to tackle the root causes of poverty by working with children, families, and their communities to provide things like clean water, health care, nutritious food, education, and economic opportunities.
