My personal message:
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I have registered to race in the Nation's Triathlon in Washington DC, on Sunday, September 14, 2008.
In my search, I have found that there are many deserving organizations. However, I could only choose one. I have chosen Operation Second Chance to be the beneficiary of my efforts and your support. As a former Marine, I found the mission of Operation Second Chance to be something that I am very passionate about. There is something to be said for a man or woman who willingly place themselves in harms way to protect the rights of others. The selfless commitment and sacrifice that our troops furnish, to keep our country safe, should not go in vain. These servicemen and women now need our help. Operation Second Chance has made helping our wounded service men and women their mission. Feel free to read more about them and what they are doing at
http://www.operationsecondchance.org
.
As part of my commitment to Operation Second Chance, I am setting a goal of +$25,000. The funds raised go to "...providing support to the Soldiers and Marines while they are at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and then to further assist them when they transition either back to duty or back to civilian life."
Because every little bit helps I have made some levels that pertain to the event:
$10.00 - Just simply not too much to ask
$32.20 - Total Distance in Miles
$51.50 - Total Distance in Kilometers
$100 - A More than Generous Donation
$150 - The cost I paid to register for the event
$250 - Time I hope to finish 2 1/2 hours
$350+ - Hours I will train for this event
*Corporate Sponsorship space will also be available on my race day jersey
Once again, thank you for your support, no donation is too small. Because of my commitment to this event, I will race regardless of the amount raised. I have even taken this one step further by registering a website,
www.tri4osc.com
, where you can check on my progress. This will give everyone a single location to access all the information that pertains to the event, my training, Operation Second Chance and most importantly my fundraising effort. However, without your contributions and help, Operation Second Chance can't provide the assistance that our wounded service men and women need and deserve. It is the least we can do for them.
Your help is much appreciated and just a few clicks away. Just click the "Sponsor Me Now" link!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Thanks,
Ron ~ "Semper Fi"
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
