Animals are such agreeable friends - they ask no questions, they pass no criticisms. George Elliot.
On November 10, 2007, I will run the Richmond Marathon (26.2 miles) to raise money for the Maryland SPCA. I first learned about the SPCA when my husband and I adopted Aggie, a Hurricane Katrina rescue. I started volunteering as a “Cat Cuddler” once a week, finding loving homes for cats and kittens. The Maryland SPCA does a phenomenal job of taking care of unwanted animals and finding them loving “forever homes.”
Where does your money go? All of the donations go directly to the SPCA (I pay for my own transportation, lodging, training, etc.).
From the SPCA’s website: ... $11 pays for one feline leukemia test ... $25 vaccinates 20 dogs for kennel cough ... $43 provides flea treatment and heartworm protection for a dog ... $100 pays for a spay surgery for a ca ... $300 pays for an animal’s care at our adoption center until it is adopted. Includes vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, food, and care.
Please help me help this wonderful organization!
I thank you -- and so do the animals, who can't speak for themselves.
Best,
Tricia Cecil
