My personal message:

Thank you for visiting the CEDI/ Unitierra Oaxaca Fundraising Page!

All donations will go to support current CEDI/ Unitierra en Oaxaca programs. Note: If you have a preference for the use of your donation, please indicate that in the text field of your donation.

Our Current Programs in Oaxaca (Mex) Include:

Center for Urban Agriculture: we are organizing/building 5 urban centers to focus on the dissemination of appropriate agricultural techniques, skills, knowledge, and materials (seed banks, composting systems, etc).

Media Center Oaxaca: we are currently upgrading the facilities of our media center. In the past the media center has proved an invaluable resource to our students, staff, and the NGO's and civil society groups with whom we work closely.

CACITA: (the Autonomous Center for Intercultural Creation of Appropriate Technologies) At CACITA we are building the tools for autonomy. Current projects based at our workshop include: solar arrays, smokeless stoves, bike-powered machines, dry lavatories, composting systems, and a variety of other appropriate technologies.

Local Student Initiative: in line with our primary mission (to provide appropriate/ alternative education to urban, rural, and indigenous youth populations throughout Oaxaca), this year's initiative includes expanding our services to another 100 local students. Help us provide them with a quality resources.

Project Warriors Without Weapons: in cooperation with the School of Warriors Without Weapons (SWWW/ Brazil) we will be conducting a community-intensive sustainability project. With the help of 30 project professionals from SWWW, and local project leaders, this project will focus on a particular community in Oaxaca to reflect, organize, and build a variety of sustainable systems there.

La Gozona: the local equivalent of a LETS system (alternative market model). This year our goal is to organize 500 small producers from throughout Oaxaca to participate in this alternative market, which ultimately will allow those small producers to escape cycles of poverty and a dominant market which devalues their goods.

Operating Funds: Since 2006 CEDI/Unitierra has been running short on operating funding. Donations to this category will go to support our excellent staff and the operation of our main offices in Oaxaca that make our work possible.

Your donations will be forwarded to us through the Berkana Institute- many thanks to our non-profit partners there!

PLEASE NOTE:

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. There is no minimum (and no maximum either).

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
