October is Nationally recognized as Down Syndrome Awareness month, and to promote this month our group like many others host a Buddy Walk. The 3 main goals of the Buddy Walk:

*To promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome
*To raise funds locally and nationally for education, research and advocacy programs
*To enhance the position of the Down syndrome community, enabling us to positively influence local and national policy and practice

This year’s walk will be held at LSUS at the back of the campus. (same as last year) The walk will be held on Saturday, October 8th 2011, registration starts at 9:00am, and the one mile walk starts at 10:00am. Hope you'll join us as we celebrate together!

We strongly encourage the local community to come out and support this great cause. It is a great day of fun, and a chance to meet some very special individuals.
