On September 26th,2009 for a 5k Walk along the Charles River. Registration begins at 10:30AM at the Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge, MA (www.sonesta.com). This year we will kick off the Walk at 11:30AM with a brunch and talk by Dr. Foster. Walkers will then head outside along the banks of the Charles River at 1:15PM to Walk for Vision! Who are we? The Ocular Immunology and Uveitis Foundation (OIUF) is a national non-profit organization, based at the Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgery Institution in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at 5 Cambridge Center. OIUF is the nation's leading non-profit organization dedicated to finding the causes and cure for ocular inflammatory disease and surface diseases and is the only national organization exclusively serving individuals, families and friends affected by such disorders.

Why this cause? Destructive inflammatory diseases (OID) of the eye, such as uveitis, are the third leading cause of preventable blindness in developed countries. Our goal of the walk is to stop blindness from OID/UVEITIS and find a Cure.

The Ocular Immunology and Uveitis Foundation is a 501c(3), not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization based at the Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgery Institution in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Our mission is to find cures for ocular inflammatory diseases, to erase the worldwide deficit of properly trained ocular immunologists, and to provide education and emotional support for those patients afflicted with ocular inflammatory disease.
