Dear Friends and Family members: I am honored to support Ronald McDonald House Charities by participating in the Chef of the House Challenge on Thursday, August 27, 2009. Thank you so much for supporting me and this worthy cause! My goal is to raise enough money to support a family during a one-week stay: 7 nights at $65 per night-$455. A sponsorship for 1 or 2 nights (or a donation in any increment of 65, e.g. $0.65 or $1.30 or $6.50 or $13.00, etc.), will be an enormous help and encouragement. The event's prize sponsor, Kitchenware Outfitters, will be giving a $25 gift certificate to every donor who contributes $65 or more to my page between now and the competition. (Certificates will be mailed to you.)
My teammates, Melissa and Alex, and I will be preparing a meal for the residents of Ronald McDonald House in competition with three of my classmates from the Culinary Institute of Savannah. It is all in good fun for this charity, and I appreciate all the support you can give.
The Savannah Ronald McDonald House provides comfort and a place to stay for parents with critically ill or injured children. Its ten-bedroom House offers all the qualities of home: beds, showers, laundry room, and a home-cooked meal prepared each night by community volunteers through their Adopt A Meal program. Raising funds makes it possible for families to stay regardless of their financial situation with their Share A Night program. The House operates at nearly 100% occupancy, 365 days a year. It costs RMHC $65 per day to provide its brand of hospitality for each family.
Suggested Donations:
$65 covers the cost for one family for one night at the House
$130 covers two nights for one family
$455 covers an entire week for one family
$1,950 covers an entire month for one family
These are just suggested donations. Any and all donations no matter the level are welcomed with open arms.
The website is safe and secure, however, if you prefer, please feel free to mail a check (make out to RMHC) to:
