About the Virginia Beach SPCA
The Virginia Beach SPCA is the only private shelter in South Hampton Roads that accepts every companion animal brought through our doors, regardless of age, health, or species. We take in and care for 5,000 animals each year. And we’re working to create a more compassionate community by providing humane education coursework to over 27,000 children each year. We must raise $5,000 each day to operate our shelter and we hope that you will help us continue our mission to help every animal find a loving, permanent home by joining us in this year's Walk for the Animals.
VBSPCA's 2008 Walk for the Animals Honorary "Chair Dog"
Meet Sabine (affectionately known as "Beanie"), VBSPCA's Honorary Chair Dog (picture shown above). As a result of severe malnutrition and an invasive infection, Beanie and her pups were brought to VBSPCA for help. Her pups were soon adopted into loving families, but Beanie had to have a front limb amputated and spent several months recuperating at the shelter. We are thrilled to report that Beanie is healthy, quite agile, and has been adopted into her forever home!
Your help makes it possible for us to give Beanie and others like her a second chance!
