Welcome to the Venetian Causeway Run/Walk Club!

Get a good workout for a good cause on the gorgeous Venetian Causeway!

5.30 walkers, 6pm runners

we will walk/run 5K followed by a stretch session with Coach Maria at approx 6.45

Bring your friends. $5 cash at the run preferred.  Bring water!

Maria Calderon and Lindsey Matheson would like to invite you to join us for regular fun run and walk sessions over the beautiful Venetian Causeway on Tuesday evenings at 6pm. We will have one group of walkers and one of runners.  Beginners and more experienced runners and walkers are welcome.  After the run we stretch and then go for a drink at one of the local cafes, sparkling water if you are feeling virtuous, a cocktail if you have really earned it! 

We are doing this to raise money to support research into pancreatic cancer.  We have both lost a parent to this terrible disease which is highly resistant to treatment and we want to do all we can to help make progress towards a cure.  Please see details of The Lustgarten Foundation, which is the nonprofit we are supporting, below.

Maria is a noted and accredited trainer who has completed numerous marathons and half-marathons.  Maria is a fantastic motivator and has a wealth of knowlege and tips to share.   Lindsey is an enthusiastic but slow runner and walker, often accompanied by her dog. 

Maria is donating her time to benefit this important cause.  We are asking for a small donation of $5 per person per session to benefit The Lustgarten Foundation.  Please donate on-line at this site or you may make a cash donation and we will make the on-line donation for you. 

We meet at 6pm on Tuesday evenings, there is one running group (runs approximately 5k/3miles) and one walking group.  Meet in the parking lot behind Maurice Gibb Memorial Park next to 1800 Sunset Harbor Drive (aka Purdy Avenue).  If you are planning to join us, please drop us an email at venetianrun@gmail.com so that we have a rough idea of numbers for planning purposes.  Remember:  Bring water and change for the parking meters.
