My personal message:

As you know, our son Kevin who is now age 40, has been a resident at Orange Grove Center for over 18 years. He lives in a group home with 3 other handicapped men. Kevin is in a special program at Orange Grove that allows him to enjoy life to the fullest. He is the president and sole employee of his own business, The Paper Shredding Company. His business motto is, "Have shredder, will travel."

Four days a week, Orange Grove staff transports Kevin to several local businesses where he shreds documents. At the end of his morning session, Orange Grove staff picks him up and takes him back to Orange Grove. When on-site at Orange Grove, Kevin shreds papers for several Orange Grove departments, taking his shredder wherever needed.

Orange Grove has been a wonderful place for Kevin to enjoy life, and make a contribution to others and his own future. Orange Grove is a fully integrated facility that provides services to just under 700 clients. These services include: operating 65 group homes, located throughout Chattanooga. Orange Grove also operates a school, a fully-staffed Health Center, a Habilitation Center and a sheltered workshop. Orange Grove also manages Chattanooga's Recycling Center, which employs over 100 clients. Orange Grove also provides special programs designed for clients with unique needs, as in Kevin's case.

Kevin has used similar facilities in several states, and Sue and I feel that Orange Grove is one of the finest facilities of its kind in America. It is perfect for Kevin!

Orange Grove has been in Chattanooga for 55 years and has recently launched a capital campaign to raise nearly 5 million dollars. This money will allow the Center to make needed upgrades and improvements and add additional residential homes.

Sue and I feel that Orange Grove is an outstanding organization and deserving of all the help you may be able to provide. If you have funds available for charitable giving, we and Orange Grove would deeply appreciate a contribution to the Capital Campaign. Any amount, $50, $100, perhaps $500, would be welcome.

You can contribute securely through this website with a credit card, or mail a check directly to: Orange Grove Center (c/o Capital Campaign), 615 Derby Street, Chattanooga, TN 37404. In the notes section on your check, please include Walter and Sue McFarland.

Thanks for your help, Walt and Sue!
