Started in 1952 by Rev. Everett Swanson as an orphanage for those devastated by the Korean War, Compassion International now has child development centers in 26 countries and helps over 1.4 million children escape economic, spiritual, and social poverty. Compassion partners with local churches and offers impoverished children holistic development programs that are Christ-centered and child focused. Children grow up receiving constant support in the nurturing environment of the center and church, which allows them to live a life of fulfillment and hope.
Compassion International ministry served by this event
All proceeds from this event will be given to Compassion International for the purchase and distribution of Water of Life filters to families who do not have access to clean drinking water. Diarrhea caused by drinking contaminated water is one of the single greatest killers of children in the developing world. These filters and buckets, which cost $79, can provide clean drinking water for a child and their entire family for several decades. They contain no moving or electronic parts and can provide over a million gallons of clean drinking water.
