Start Fundraising

Welcome!

Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency’s 17th Annual Walk for Warmth event is being held on:

Saturday, February 23, 2013
9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Westland Shopping Center
(35000 W. Warren)

The Walk for Warmth is Wayne Metro’s largest fundraiser and raises funds for people who are truly in need; people faced with the decisions to feed their family or heat their home in the winter.

Heat for your home in the winter is a basic necessity for Michigan families, and sadly, a basic necessity that is often overlooked. Low-income families will spend approximately 40% of their monthly household income on utilities. The Walk for Warmth directly supports local families, keeping them safe and warm!

The Walk provides great entertainment, special guests, door prizes and team awards. It’s a great way for a family to spend a Saturday morning!

There are a number of ways that you can become involved in the Walk:

  1. Create a Fundraising Page – Personalize your own fundraising page with a special message and pictures. Send the page’s link to your family and friends – it’s a easy way to raise pledges online (all transactions are secure!).
  2. Start a Team – Gather your friends, family and co-workers and start your own team. Team awards are given at the event for Most Team Spirit, Best Team Name, Most Pledges Raised and Most Number of Walkers. Warming: Competition for awards increases each year, so be prepared!
  3. Get Your School or Company Involved – Fundraisers can be easy and simple! Coordinate a casual dress day, bake sale or penny drive. Every little bit counts! Also, don’t forget to see if your employer has a matching gift program!
  4. Corporate and In-kind Donations – Sponsorships, advertisements and opportunities for in-kind donations are available!
