The Wilson Disease Assocition was incorportated in 1983 with the purpose of providing leadership and resources that will result in increased research, improved health, worldwide detection and a cure for Wilson disease.  We remain committeed to these goals!

About Wilson disease

Wilson disease is a genetic disorder that is fatal unless detected and treated before serious illness from copper poisioning develops.  Wilson disease affects approximately one in 30,000 people worldwide.  The genetic defect causes excessive copper accumulation in the liver or brain.
