Thank you for visiting my fund-raising page! As of 7/23/09, I have officially raised enough funding for one shallow well in Africa. Since the need is so great and many of us are still interested in making an impact, I have raised my goal amount. In addition to building a 60-foot well in one community, I hope to donate to some other water relief efforts in Africa by funding well maintenance, upgrades, and pipeline projects.
This is a special opportunity to help children and families around the world who are in desperate need. Please join with me by giving a gift that will bring life-changing help and hope. Your support will demonstrate compassion and offer hope to children and families in Africa. In fact, together we can share God’s love with an entire community by providing a clean water well.
Here are some things you might not realize:
- A child dies every 15 seconds due to water-related illnesses like typhoid, cholera, and dysentery.
- 6 million people are blind because of contaminated water.
- The amount of water an American family uses in one day is enough to sustain 16 African families for a day.
- Some children in Africa spend much of their day fetching water for their families and, therefore, cannot attend school.
- Water is LIFE and clean water can bring food, health, hygiene, education, and well-being to a community.
World Vision, a Christian relief and development organization, works in nearly 100 countries to help children and families tackle the causes of poverty. With the partnership of people like us, they are making a real and lasting difference for millions of people.
When you donate to the Clean Water Fund, your gift will help to provide clean, life-giving water to a community in Africa through the construction of a 60-foot well. This is really an opportunity to be the hands of Christ and use our resources for great impact. Thanks for joining me in this effort!
"But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life." (John 4:14)
