Thank you for visiting my fund-raising page! As of 7/23/09, I have officially raised enough funding for one shallow well in Africa. Since the need is so great and many of us are still interested in making an impact, I have raised my goal amount. In addition to building a 60-foot well in one community, I hope to donate to some other water relief efforts in Africa by funding well maintenance, upgrades, and pipeline projects.

Here are some things you might not realize:

• A child dies every 15 seconds due to water-related illnesses like typhoid, cholera, and dysentery.
• 6 million people are blind because of contaminated water.
• The amount of water an American family uses in one day is enough to sustain 16 African families for a day. 
• Some children in Africa spend much of their day fetching water for their families and, therefore, cannot attend school. 
• Water is LIFE and clean water can bring food, health, hygiene, education, and well-being to a community.

World Vision, a Christian relief and development organization, works in nearly 100 countries to help children and families tackle the causes of poverty. With the partnership of people like us, they are making a real and lasting difference for millions of people.
