Thank you for helping us raise money for a wheelchair and wheelchair lift van for Samantha!
See a video slideshow about Samantha at:

Samantha is a 22 year old beautiful young lady who has had many challenges in her life. She has Cerebral Palsy, Cortical Blindness and is spastic quadriplegic and non-verbal. If you ever met Samantha, however, you would see an extremely happy person, who loves to smile and laugh. Samantha has made tremendous progress medically, and now lives without a respirator (5 years), oxygen and tracheostomy (8 years) or feeding tube (20 years).
As you can well imagine, having a handicapped child is emotionally and financially draining, especially for a single parent. Two years ago, Sharon and Sam moved to North Carolina, where they settled into a new home, built with all accommodations for Sam’s needs. Fortunately, Sharon has been able to meet most of Sam’s needs, but is at a crossroad now regarding reliable transportation in order to bring her to programs, events, church, etc., and we, as her friends, are trying to help.
Sam’s struggle has been long and arduous, but the joy of seeing her come so far is why we are now asking for your help in purchasing a wheelchair-lift van and wheelchair. Any donation you can afford to make will be greatly appreciated. Your donation is tax-deductible. With your help we can make this necessity a reality for Sam.
We would appreciate it if you could forward this plea to your relatives and friends, and ask them to pass it along. The more people we can get this request to, the closer we can come to getting Sam travelling in her van.
If you need copies of this letter to mail to friends and relatives who do not have email, you can either:
Tell us the name and address where you would like the letter sent and we will mail them. If you prefer, just let us know the number of letters you need and we will mail them to you, along with envelopes and postage.
We are grateful for your support!
