One of the first Christians pastors among the Maasae (Maasai) people of Tanzania, Rev. Yohanna Ngekee died in 2007 just as the fruit of his labors was becoming evident. A small Christian ministry, Workers Together With Him (based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana), is raising money to build a Maasae Worship and Historical Center in Matebete Village, near Chimala, Tanzania. This center will be named in honor of Rev. Ngekee. It will be used by the Maasae as a place to teach their children about their heritage, as well as a nondenominational place of worship. There will be sleeping rooms and a small dining hall for visitors to the village.
Please visit our website at www.wtwh.org to view pictures and videos from our work with the Maasae. Theirs is a beautiful culture that needs to be preserved or it will be swept away by the many changes and challenges on their horizon.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support.
