- Lincoln Park Zoo recently broke ground on a $12 million ecological restoration endeavor called Nature Boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo which will transform and revitalize the South Pond into a natural ecosystem. The pond will be completely surrounded by a boardwalk to provide maximum enjoyment and opportunity for guests to experience nature. Numerous education programs and interpretation opportunities will be provided. Nature Boardwalk is slated to open spring 2010.
