How to Become a Rappeller
1. Set up your fundraising page
Click on the Fundraise button to your right and create your FirstGIving account and customize your personal fundraising page. Having your own page helps you raise funds for your rappel. When setting up, you are required to pay $100.00 registration fee. This amount will go towards your fundraising goal.
If you didn’t get a chance to set up your personal fundraising page when you registered, be sure to do so ASAP! Firstgiving should have sent you a confirmation email to verify your registration, and you’ll be able to use that log-in information to create and edit your personal page. Simply visit Firstgiving.com and sign in.
2. Raise funds
Now you’ll have a personalized fundraising Web site and link to share with friends and family. Start by sharing your link on Facebook, sending it via email to your contacts, and tweeting it out to the world!
3. Secure your rappel spot
So you raised your $$$ (easier than you expected, right?!), now what? You’ll receive an email with details about securing your rappel time. Rappel spots fill up on a “first-to-$$$$-first-served” basis, so the sooner you reach your goal, the sooner you can snatch up a spot!
4. Aim high (and earn incentives!)
You’re rappelling off a building…why not aim HIGH with your fundraising goals? All rappellers will receive a snazzy event shirt.
Deadline to raise your rappel amount is March 18, 2017
5. Go Over the Edge
March 25, 2017 will quite possibly turn out to be one of the best (and most exciting, awesome, and exhilarating) days of your life! You’ll receive detailed information
