2017 Orono Walk for Epilepsy

Saturday, April 22, 2017

Epilepsy Foundation New England provides help for today and hope for tomorrow for tens of thousands of people living with epilepsy.  On April 22, 2017, we invite you to join us for day of inspiration, hope, and fun in Orono, as we walk to show our support for people affected by epilepsy in our community.

The Orono epilepsy walk helps us team up with friends, loved ones, caregivers, and co-workers to make a difference for people affected by epilepsy. Together, we become a powerful force. With every step we take, and every dollar we raise, we are that much closer to finding a cure.

At EFNE’s Orono epilepsy walk, you will be able to honor loved ones living with epilepsy, remember those we have lost, raise epilepsy awareness, and support epilepsy fundraising. The funds raised by our dedicated walkers, volunteers, and sponsors help us to provide support for education and services, and accelerate new therapies. Come join a community of spirit and strength!

How long is the walk route?

The Orono Walk is an easy 1-mile loop through the university campus with an option to walk one mile, two, or even 3 miles! This will be a lovely spring walk through the University of Maine Orono Campus. The campus was designed by legendary landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted and has been designated as an arboretum in 2003. Come and enjoy the lovely setting and know that every step you take makes a difference!

What to expect?

EFNE’s Orono walk brings together our epilepsy community to share in a day filled with purpose, while fostering connections.  Children’s activities bring lots of smiles to our youngest walkers and include face painting, a crafts table and music to sing and dance to. The Orono epilepsy walk is a great way to welcome spring back, have fun with friends and family, and show your support for people living with epilepsy.
