WELCOME TO SAN FRANCISCO'S 12th WALK AGAINST RAPE!
Now, more than ever, we need to come together to strengthen our communities and take a united stand against Sexual Violence. In this current climate, we need your fierce support and allyship to continue providing our free services to survivors and our communities.
Walk Against Rape is an opportunity for the communities of San Francisco’s Bay Area to come together and raise awareness around sexual assault. 1 in 4 women and 1 in 11 men will be raped in their lifetimes, yet an estimated less than 20% of rapes are reported to the police. The silence and taboo around rape causes survivors to feel isolated and unsupported.
The goal of Walk Against Rape is to empower survivors, their friends, families and supporters, to break that silence by marching together on the streets against rape.
All proceeds benefit San Francisco Women Against Rape (SFWAR), San Francisco's only community based rape crisis center.
As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Walk Against Rape will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017. This year, *WE HAVE A NEW ROUTE*. The march will be about 2.2 miles and will start and end at The Women's Building. For more information around accessibility and route details, please contact email@example.com.

Fundraising is Easy
Last year, the average Walker raised $196 and the average donation was $60. With Firstgiving, fundraising is easy. All you have to do is register, create your own page, and then share the link with friends, colleagues, and family so they can donate in support of you or your team. You can use email, Facebook, and Twitter to spread the word!
**We have limited edition Walk Against Rape t-shirts available for individuals who raise $60 or more in support of SFWAR's programs. For teams, we ask that each individual team member raise $60 or more in order to receive a t-shirt.**
SFWAR provides resources, support, advocacy and education to strengthen the work of all individuals, and communities in San Francisco that are responding to, healing from, and struggling to end sexual violence. We believe that no single individual, organization, foundation, or business alone can stop the epidemic of sexual assault, but by responding as a whole community, we each bring our piece of the solution.
PLEASE NOTE THAT AS YOU REGISTER YOU WILL BE ASKED TO MAKE A GENERAL DONATION IN SUPPORT OF SFWAR'S SERVICES FOR SURVIVORS:
While this is not required, it can inspire your sponsors!
