Please join us for the first annual Walk to Feed the Hungry in Portland!
This beautiful opportunity for compassion in action will raise awareness and funds to support Buddhist Global Relief's efforts to end chronic hunger and malnutrition in the US and around the world.
Prior to the walk, reflections on compassion and generosity will be offered by Ajahn Sudanto, Abbott of the Pacific Hermitage, and Sakula, Spiritual Director of Portland Friends of the Dhamma (PFOD).
Our 2 mile walk will proceed east from PFOD up the north side of Hawthorne Blvd. We'll cross Hawthorne at Cesar Chavez Blvd and head west back down the south side of Hawthorne to finish at the PFOD. Some light refreshments will be served after the walk. The walk will proceed rain or shine.
Kid-friendly activities will be provided at PFOD by Jessica Swanson, coordinator of PFOD's Children's Program, for our littlest participants who cannot make the walk with their parents. Please email Jessica with questions and to RSVP for the kid-friendly activities at http://www.pdxdhamma.org/email-us/
An adult program, including meditation focused on compassion, will also be held at PFOD for those who do not wish to walk with the group.
