Benefiting BUDDHIST GLOBAL RELIEF

We are excited to announce the 3rd Annual Walk to Feed the Hungry at Kensington Park in Milford, Michigan, on Sunday, October 6, 2013. Buddhists from all over the state of Michigan and in many cities around the world will gather together to participate in the Walk to support the hunger relief programs of Buddhist Global Relief (http://www.buddhistglobalrelief.org/active/bgrMission.html), the charity founded by the renowned Buddhist scholar-monk Bhikkhu Bodhi. We invite you to join this work of compassion by walking, volunteering, or making a donation.  Buddhist Global Relief provides grants for global hunger relief programs, including programs in education, farming, and women's livelihood — all aiming toward food security.  A percentage of the day’s proceeds will also benefit local food banks in Michigan.

Check-in will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the 1.5 mile walk in the park starting at 10:00 am.  We will finish with a picnic lunch and Dhamma Reflections by Local Buddhist Teachers with the event ending at around 1 pm.

Directions: From I-96, take exit 151/Kensington Rd and enter the park; there is a $5 entrance fee/car; after entering, drive about ½ mile past the toll both to the West Boat Launch Picnic Area on the right (the start point for the walk).
