Yorkshire UK Walk to Feed the Hungry

Saturday, September 29, 2012

Join us for a walk in benefit of the hungry people around the world, and those in our own community.

We will start walking from the Bronte Parsonage Museum on Church Street in Haworth at 11 AM, cross the moors using footpaths and finish at St. George's Square in Hebden Bridge. The walk is 9 miles long and goes across farmland, moorland and minor roads. We anticipate it will take between 3 and 4 hours to complete the walk at a leisurely pace. Sunshine is forecast but it may rain so waterproofs and warm clothing are suggested. Recent heavy rain means that it will be boggy underfoot, so waterproof walking boots should be worn.

There are few cafes on route so please bring a flask of a hot drink and snacks. When we arrive at Hebden Bridge we will partake of the hospitality of a local hostelry!

Getting there

If you are travelling by car to Haworth please follow the B6142 to West Lane and park in the Bronte Parsonage Museum Car Park. AVOID THE CHANGEGATE CARPARK WHICH IS INFAMOUS FOR WHEELCLAMPING..

By public transport from Keighley Bus Station get the Keighley to Hebden Bridge Bus NO 500 and get odd at Sun Street Haworth. It is then a 5 minute walk to the Bronte Parsonage Museum.

Returning from Hebden Bridge to Haworth we will use the same bus No 500 which departs hourly at 12 minutes past the hour.

We look forward to sharing a wonderful walk with you across beautiful countryside.
