Community Vision, Inc.

Community Vision’s mission is to work to make Oregon a place with disability can live, work, and make self-guided decisions in the community of their choice.

We are the largest Oregon non-profit focusing on individualized housing, supported living, employment, homeownership, and financial stability services to people experiencing disability and their families.

We provide an array of services to individuals with disabilities to assist them to live, work, and thrive in the community of their choice.  We support individuals with a wide range of support needs, and our services are tailored to the needs of each person.  Our agency believes that every person should have access to opportunities and choice, regardless of their disability. Individualized, person-centered support remains the core of our philosophy - for over 26 years, we have continued to create innovative programs to assist with this access. Community Vision offers services to assist individuals to live independently, find meaningful employment, purchase homes, start businesses, and access the community in all ways.

Community Vision is nearing ground-breaking on a new public facility, the Seven Corners Community Collaborative. This facility will empower individuals with disabilities, coupled with help from their families and community, by resolving three pressing needs for people with disability in the Portland Metro Area:

  • Increased Capacity to Serve: By co-locating with two other organizations that serve families with disabilities in a centralized location in inner SE Portland, we will be able to provide services for 35% more people.
  • Access to New Technology: Our new Assistive Technology center will provide people experiencing disability with access to new technologies to improve mobility, communication, and functionality.
  • Universal Design: Regionally, there has been no standard for what public universal design looks like. This project will set the standard of accessibility for all for Oregon.

How your fundraising can help:

  • $50 - Give a family much needed respite care
  • $250 – Sponsor a youth to participate in our Dream Builders program
  • $750 - Make a rent deposit
  • $1,000- Help kick-start a small business
  • $2,500 – Rehab a home to make it accessible.

Community Vision's goal is to raise $75,000 by April 2017.  Seven Corners Community Collaborative will break ground in Summer 2016.
