40th Annual Walk for the Animals

Benefiting Humane Pennsylvania

The Walk for the Animals and Walktoberfest is coming to Jim Dietrich Park on September 23rd and this time - it's going to be better than ever before! Why?? Because this year marks the 40th year for this family and pet friendly event that attracts thousands of participants annually, and is supported by animal lovers and their friends across the nation and globe! The day begins at 11am and features live music, vendors and activities for the whole family, and it's free to attend.

To make this year even more fun and interactive, we are incorporating our new initiative, "Healthy Pets, Healthy Lives", into our largest event of the year, encouraging all of our friends, four legged and otherwise, to get active and maintain a healthy lifestyle for the benefit of themselves and their furry friends! It's through this initative that we are able to help more than 3,000 animals find permanent, loving homes and provide over $700,000 in charitable veterinary services to homeless and stray pets annually.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, the Walk helps raise much-needed funds for the animals & people served by The Humane Society of Berks County and The Humane League of Lancaster County. You can help us to raise funds by registering now on FirstGiving to participate in the Walk and ask your friends and family to support you as you support the animals. Or you can get your friends together to walk as a Pack and raise even more funds! Our goal is to have 20 Packs registered this year and to have every single state in our country represented in our donation total. (That's our 50 State Challenge!) To set up your Pack today, please email Lauren Henderson at lhenderson@humanepa.org or call (610) 750-6100, extension 211.

Please note that registering a FirstGiving page does not complete your Walk registration - you'll need to register for the Walk at our online store at  http://www.shop.berkshumane.org to reserve your t-shirts! Click on "Register for Special Events", then "40th Annual Walk for the Animals and Walktoberfest", and proceed to register.
