Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention

Empowering Survivors

Breaking the Cycle

MCVP began in 1978 as a volunteer-run organization called Women’s Crisis Services of the Monadnock Region. In 2003, the agency’s name was changed to Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention, to reflect our mission to serve women, men & children as well as work to end violence in the region.

MCVP is the only non-profit organization in the Monadnock Region solely committed to supporting survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking, and breaking the cycle of violence through prevention programs and community education.

In 2015, MCVP provided the following services in the Monadnock Region:

  • 724 individuals received free & confidential support services
  • 55 women & children were provided with a safe, confidential shelter stay
  • Over 2,000 students, teachers, support staff and community members  received prevention education programs on harassment and abuse and promoting healthy relationships
  • Over 2,000 community members were reached through various education and outreach efforts
