Hiking in the Adirondack High Peaks

Help the Adirondack History Museum and Essex County Historical Society create an interactive space to celebrate the role hiking has played in the Adirondack High Peaks!  A new exhibit will explore the High Peak’s hiking history and the role that advocacy and hiking groups have played. We plan to highlight the work of the Adirondack Forty-Sixers, the Adirondack Mountain Club, the Summit Stewards, hiking pioneers, old time guides, and other historic and contemporary figures, while featuring many of the items in our collection.

Thanks to support from Adirondack 46ers, Adirondack 46R Conservation Trust, Cloudsplitter Foundation, J.M. McDonald Foundation, and individual contributions, we've already raised $32,000! We are aiming to raise $46,000 - that's $1,000 for each of the 46 High Peaks! The more we raise, the more we can offer in our exhibit!
