Welcome to ALS in the Heartland's FirstGiving page! Together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of Nebraskans and western Iowans impacted by ALS.

With ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), or Lou Gehrig’s Disease, a person maintains their mind, but progressively loses control of every muscle—essentially becoming a prisoner in their own body. There is no treatment or cure and, once diagnosed, patients almost always die within 2-5 years.

ALS in the Heartland (ALSITH) is not funded by, or affiliated with, the national ALS Association (ALSA). All funds raised by ALSITH remain in Nebraska and Iowa to solely and immediately support people with ALS living in those states.
