Beit T’Shuvah is a renowned non-profit treatment and prevention center in West L.A., which is made possible by the generosity of various private donors. Our Run to Save a Soul campaign was developed 5 years ago as part fundraiser, part program. The Beit T’Shuvah Marathon Team (Team BTS) demonstrates how our program helps recovering addicts survive their addiction and thrive in every aspect of their lives.
Last year, the team touched the hearts of countless people – collectively they raised over $129,000 for Beit T’Shuvah. The funds helped provide other souls in need of saving the chance to live. This tremendous charitable contribution is a testament to reciprocity. Beit T’Shuvah has never turned anyone away regardless of his or her ability to pay. Run to Save a Soul is exactly what it sounds like. Last year all 53 runners finished the race – not one person gave up. They saved their souls – and ran to help save the next.
The team started off in 2009 with 12 people and reached a record breaking 53 runners in the 2012-2013 Season. The team is comprised of both treatment center residents and enthusiastic community members, who go through a vigorous 26 week training program. Our team is proudly led by Certified Coaches, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, and offers a number of unique runner benefits.
The runners have not only put their heart and soul behind the cause; they have also put their personal stories online. Check out some of their stories by clicking on their personal pages.
