Why We Run:
12 million Americans live with the effects of brain injury – and each year in Massachusetts 67,000 residents sustain a traumatic brain injury (TBI), the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts (BIA-MA) and Team BIA-MA come together at the 2017 New Balance Falmouth Road Race to raise important funds and the necessary awareness for this often silent epidemic.
What We Do:
BIA-MA has 50 support groups state-wide that provide an opportunity for survivors, caregivers and family members to connect and share with others in similar situations. Our prevention and education programs help children and adults learn to make better, more informed choices, raise awareness of brain injury, while providing important resources to professionals in the field. Advocacy efforts at the State House enhance existing resources for survivors and helps improve laws to prevent brain injury.
You can make a difference by joining Team BIA-MA as a runner in the 2017 New Balance Falmouth Road Race or by making a donation to support our runners. Together we are creating a better future for those impacted by brain injury. Your donation will support our efforts in prevention, education, advocacy and support and ensure they are made available to thousands of brain injury survivors, caregivers, family members, professionals, youth, and the general public across the Commonwealth. Team BIA-MA is counting on your generosity to meet their fundraising goals. Let’s cheer them on together!
