Benefiting BRONX RIVER ALLIANCE INC

Registration is now full!

Picture the excitement of a child on their first canoe experience. You can help provide canoe opportunities for youth to connect with nature on the Bronx River! Join the 2017 Amazing Bronx River Flotilla and help us reach our goal of raising $65,000 to make canoe adventures available to 1,000 kids and their families in 2017. Later this year, we will be leading some of those trips out of our brand new headquarters on the river: Bronx River House!

When Saturday, May 13 at 9:30 am (registration begins at 8:30 am).

How does it work? A designated captain will take the lead in forming a team of 6 people (in 3 canoes) and paddle 5-mile down the Bronx River. Each team will commit to fundraising a total of $2,000 ($350 per person). Individual spots are also available on our open team the Eels. We'll support you in reaching your fundraising goal by providing you with your very own online fundraising webpage to spread the word to family, friends and social network.

During this trip, you'll get a chance to paddle through the NY Botanical Garden and the Bronx Zoo, get a close look at the fish ladder at the 182nd St. dam, and take a peek at Bronx River House, now in construction at Starlight Park. Though we will offer on-site support, please be ready to carry or wheel your canoe with your partner at three portgage sites.

Registration fee is $50, which is tax-deductible, applies towards fundraising goal, and entitles you to a one-year Family Membership with the Bronx River Alliance. We will provide you with all the necessary equipment: a canoe, paddles and life vests for your team. To sign up for this event you must be 18 years of age. All participants will receive a t-shirt and a goody bag. There will be FUN PRIZES for the top fundraising teams and individuals at Hunts Point Riverside Park.

You MUST bring both the ACA Adult Waiver Form (found here) as well as the Consent to Use Name and Likeness Form (found here) on the day of the event in order to participate.

Public Ceremony and Celebration After the canoe trip, we will celebrate the winners and kick off an afternoon of festivities at Hunts Point Riverside Park, with music, food, and much more!

Spots are limited for the 5-mile paddle, so pull together your family, friends, and colleagues and form your team. Come up with an exciting team name and designated captain.
