WALK FOR WATER KALAMAZOO 2017

About the Walk
Walk for Water is a fundraising event to increase Kalamazoo’s awareness of the worldwide lack of access to clean water and to raise funds to help Clean Water for the World provide water purification units to local communities in developing countries.
Walkers are encouraged to carry jugs filled with water during the Walk. This is to simulate the work women and children in developing countries do every day to obtain water. Water jugs will be provided.
A water carrying competition will take place during the walk. Participants can carry as much water as possible using whichever methods they choose. NO BACKPACKS AND NO WHEELS.
Pre-walk online registration ends at 10:00 pm on April 7th.
Walk up registration continues until 1:00 PM on April 8th: Students: $13, Non-Students: $18, children under 15 are free.
T shirts: $8, Participants raising $50 and above receive a free T shirt.
All participants receive a Walk for Water button. Click 'REGISTER' button above right to register online. Race day registration begins at 12:15 PM.
Jimmy John's will provide sub's after the Walk. Imperial Beverage will provide flavored water.
Walkers and runners can raise money through their own First Giving fundraising page. Ask neighbors, co-workers, family and friends to make it a team effort! The fundraising goal is $4500 to install 4 water purification units in Haiti, Guatemala, and El Salvador.
All participants must complete a Liability Waiver available at the Walk registration table.
