Fran Crofts' - Providence Marathon 2015: Running for Rare Diseases Team

Dear All:

On May 3, 2015, I will be running the Providence Marathon as a member of a team of Sanofi/Genzyme employees in support of programs and services of the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) for individuals and families affected by rare diseases.

The money raised by the team will be used to fund the Genzyme/NORD NIH Undiagnosed Diseases Program (UDP) Partnership, which is meant to help individuals who are still undiagnosed. Established in 2008, the NIH UDP is the primary US resource for patients and their physicians who have exhausted other alternatives in seeking a diagnosis.

I am fortunate to have Kylene as my patient partner!  After many years of searching, Kylene was recently diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. Kylene, like so many people living with a chronic disease is an amazing individual. She has a strong faith and great sense of humor and is also a marathoner and PhD candidate in exercise physiology. You can learn more about Kylene and her journey to diagnosis and beyond at

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. No donation is too small!! And, as NORD is a federally registered not-for-profit organization (TAX ID 13-3223946), your donation is deductible on your individual federal income tax return.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

P.S. I have a very shy pool of donors – in fact all donors to date are identified as “Anonymous”. No need to be shy – it’s okay to provide a name (or alias, if you prefer)!
