Ramah Bike Ride 2015

Joel Mann's Israel Bike Riding Page

On May 12, I am participating in a 5-day bike ride in Israel to raise funds and awareness for children, adolescents and young adults with special needs.  This is a personal athletic challenge, and I am proud to be participating with a wonderful organization, Camp Ramah, a leader in summer camping and a pioneer in special needs programs for more than 40 years.

The National Ramah Tikvah Network of programs offers the exceptional Ramah camp experience to Jewish children, teens, and young adults with a wide range of learning, developmental, cognitive, and social disabilities.  The goal of the Ramah programs is to enhance Jewish identity and teach Jewish values in a supportive, inclusive, fun environment. At Ramah, campers with disabilities have many opportunities to connect and participate in activities with campers throughout the camp. These interactions provide an exceptional benefit to the entire Ramah community by fostering a heightened sensitivity toward individual differences.

As a participant in the ride, I have committed to raise at least $3,600.  I hope you will consider a gift to support this important cause.

Your gift will help Ramah offer additional scholarships and make camp more affordable to families with children with special needs. It will also invest in the training and development of the incredible staff members who dedicate their summers to working with these wonderful kids. Today, eight Ramah camps offer 14 programs for kids, adolescents and young adults with special needs. Some of these programs focus on an inclusion approach to special needs education, others provide vocational programs for young adults, and others offer family camps for kids, siblings and parents.

I am hoping that my participation in the Ramah Israel Bike Ride will help make it a little easier for these families to give their child the gift of summer camp.  Please help me make the camp experience available for all children.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
