Relay Runner for the MS Run the US 2017 Relay

I am SO pleased to join the 2017 MS Run the US Relay team!

I will be running approximately 135 miles over the course of 5 days in May of 2017. Oh, and before I can do that, I've committed to raising $10,000 to research a cure and help those living with MS. Sound crazy? Because it totally is!

About the Relay:

The MS Run the US Relay is an annual 3,100-mile relay run across America for the MS cause. The Relay begins each year mid-April near Los Angeles, CA and finishes mid-August in New York, NY. To participate each runner commits to fundraising $10,000 over ten months and to running approximately 160-miles over 6 consecutive days during his or her assigned Relay segment. There are 18 segments total spanning from LA to New York, thus 18 runners on a Relay team.

Runner Story:

Running has always been a part of my life. All through high school and college, it was the way I fueled my competitive spirit. Now I’m a bit older and a whole lot slower, so I needed to find a way for running to fulfill a new part of my soul. I began running races in order to raise funds for a number of nonprofits. But I missed the challenge and excitement of taking on something large and looming and seemingly impossible.

Enter: MS Run the US.

After watching my friend Kritta train, fundraise, and run the 2016 relay, I was completely enraptured with the whole experience. I asked her questions, hemmed and hawed, and finally applied. And suddenly, I was in.

I don’t have a close family member or friend with MS. I haven’t been personally affected by the disease. But I know I am extremely blessed with the body I have. And I know that I can use this body to do something for others. And something about MS Run the US called to me, got under my skin, and sat in my brain until it was obvious that my partnership with them was natural.

I am overwhelmingly honored to be running and raising funds for this group. I want to hear YOUR story. How has MS impacted your life or the life of someone you love? I will run my steps with you in mind. I will fight for every last dollar for you.

My days of running PRs and winning races may be behind me, but I couldn’t be more excited to take that competitive mentality and aim it at research for a cure for MS. Bring it on.

I can't wait to share this new, crazy adventure with you all.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

[Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.]
