As most of you know last year I was the beneficiary of the Friendship Paddle. It truly was one of the most magical events of my life. Our dear friend Paul Westmacott put together a video of the adventure that will help you understand what a special event this truly is. You can see the video at: http://vimeo.com/82571691. Although I was able to go on the boat last year I was unable to paddle. I was so disappointed but ultimately had to follow doctors orders. This year I am honored to not only be able to paddle but to be paddling for a friend, Tucker Heintz.
Tucker was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He was a true waterman that loved to surf. Unfortunately, we lost Tucker on August 25, 2014. This year I will be paddling to honor Tucker's memory and support his loved ones and friends. All the funds raised will be used by Tucker's family to pay his medical expenses and the rest they will pay forward to the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara. For those of you who do not know about the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara it is a wonderful place with the most caring doctors and nurses. They provide a number of services for their patients such as support groups, massage, yoga, art and more.
Thank you for your support as I embark on the Friendship Paddle this year. No donation is too small or too big.
Hugs and Kisses,
