COPD Foundation Board of Directors Match Team 2014's Page

Dear Friends,

Here are some quick facts about COPD:

  • COPD stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, a progressive lung disease that is characterized by increasing breathlessness.

  • COPD is the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States affecting over 24 Million Americans (many of which are unaware they have COPD)

  • COPD is 3x more likely to afflict women than breast cancer

  • COPD is one of the most federally underfunded diseases in the US.

Ultimately, It is up to our community to spread the word and raise the funds needed to fight COPD.

We are proud to announce the "Pledge 2 Tell 10 about COPD" Matching Gift Campaign. Throughout the fall we will challenge our community to tell 10 people to donate towards a cure for COPD.

From now until December 31st, the COPD Foundation Board of Directors has pledged up to $390,000 to match donations**. For every dollar you donate, the Board of Directors will match it 50%.

Our goal is to raise over one million dollars and we need your help!

Thank you for supporting our efforts.
