GRID ALTERNATIVES

Greater Los Angeles SOLARTHON- November 10, 2012

I have always been interested renewable energy.  To me, it seems like backwards thinking: to take a finite amount of something and then just expect it to drop in cost eventually.  Which is why I'm excited to start working with Grid Alternatives for Solarthon 2012 in the Greater Los Angeles Area.  This year, like last, we are going to be installing solar panels for 10, that's right 10 families all in one day!  These panels will do wonders for those families' financial, health, and mental state.

I believe the future does not belong to those who create it, but rather benefit and perpetuate it. The multi-million dollar companies that use this technology as a way of "not getting fined" is one thing, but those who struggle to provide for their family would benefit in a much larger sense- and the only way to benefit from such technology as solar energy is to invest in it; Many people do not have the ability to put that kind of money down, and therefore delay the future for themselves and their neighbors.  It is our responsibility to bring ourselves there together.

Although the families will be receiving this gift at no cost to them, it does take quite a bit to put this event together.  Which is why I must ask of you of a donation; whatever you can spare, to sponsor my participation in making this dream come true.  The goal I must make by November 10th is $250.00.  I am not limited to that amount and I would love to see this fundraiser do well, so I aim striving to exceed that goal. However great actions, have humble beginnings; so please spare whatever you can, a single dollar puts those families that much closer to sustainability.

I appreciate your time and consideration!
