Bio Overview:

I am a Senior College Student attending Marian University of Fond Du Lac, WI striving towards a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science in December 2015. I have started my career in the fitness industry as a personal trainer within the past year at TNT Fitness Results in Menasha, WI. I'm an avid runner, competing in 8 Full Marathons, 2 Ultra 50k Marathons, and many Half Marathons, 10k's, and 5k's. Also, I was on the first Track team and first year of revival of the Cross Country team for Marian University. I have a passion for helping others and giving back to those needing assistance; especially helping those that are not as fortunate as me to even be able to walk. This year I am focusing on helping find a cure and raise awareness for MS.

Hometown: Sheboygan, WI

Runner Story:

I have learned of this wonderful opportunity of MS Run the US through a dear friend of mine, Amy VanDyke. Every time she had encountered me she would bring up running across the US with the MS Relay team. I had thought about it over and over again, and finally the last time talking to her she had mentioned a few spots being open to run with MS Run the US. This will be my first time running more than one marathon consecutively--I will be running 6 consecutive marathons over the course of 6 days which makes me nervous; however the support and love from my friends, family, and donors will provide me with the appropriate guidance. I found my love and passion for running after my weight loss of 90 pounds which is when I started competing in Marathons and Ultra Marathons. Since I have found my passion in running about 6 years ago, I feel like there is nothing more rewarding than following my two passions, giving back and running; of which MS Run The US gives me the opportunity to do both. I am inspired and driven by being able to help raise awareness and find a cure for MS. I had met Ashley Kumlien about a year ago at an AdvoCare event at TNT Fitness Results in Eden and started talking to her about my love for running after she had shared her touching story with me. Her story of running across the US to raise awareness and find a cure for MS, by herself, had inspired me to do more and to give more to charities. This year I have set a goal to run 12 marathons, starting with my first in Fort Lauderdale, FL on February 15th. The biggest contribution I can give is just to move even one step, which is one step towards finding a cure and raising awareness for MS. I want to thank each and every one of you who have made a donation towards MS Run the US. The support will help me as I'm training for this event, whether it be Monetary, encouraging words to push me through training runs, being there in spirit with me during my segment of the relay, or running with me to push me through difficult training runs. Thank you again for your donations. Any donation or sponsors will be named on my running attire. I run to fight the fight and persevere to find a cure and raise awareness for MS!!
